Isla Mariana is a relaxed, camp-like beachfront retreat on the island of Real de Las Penas, Nicaragua. Located between the salt mines of Salinas Grandes and the Colonial city of Leon. If your idea of escape is a secluded island where you can commune with nature, live quietly, and fish, boat and surf, then Isla Mariana is the place. It’s an off-the-beaten path location featuring 10.5 kilometers of pristine beach, just 30 minutes from the colonial city of Leon. It’s surrounded by the Juan Venado Nature Reserve as well as the unique Salinas Grandes area where salts are pulled directly from the sea. Because of this, Isla Mariana is dedicated to preserving and promoting Nicaragua’s natural resources and efforts are being made to classify the nearby salt fields as an eco-preserve. In essence, Isla Mariana is a wonderfully exceptional and beautiful place.
