Today, I joined a peaceful protest with the Khmer community in Norway.
I want to say this from my heart:
the Khmer people are some of the most loving, warm, and welcoming people I have ever met.
Wherever I meet Khmer people—whether in Cambodia or abroad—I am met with kindness, dignity, and humanity.
To all my Khmer friends in Cambodia:
please know this—you are no longer invisible here in Norway.
You are being seen.
You are being heard.
Norwegian media are beginning to listen, to write more, and to show your stories.
This matters.
I encourage all foreigners who have ties to Cambodia—who live there, work there, or love the country—to speak up, to stand together, and to do the same wherever they are. Silence helps no one. Solidarity does.
Cambodia is more than headlines.
It is people.
Families.
Warmth.
Resilience.
I love Cambodia.
And I will continue to stand with its people.
