The map room, once Nick's home office, is a captivating space adorned with a remarkable collection of antique maps. Over the years, Nick's passion for cartography, art, and travel propelled the growth of this extraordinary collection. Whenever we embarked on a new journey, Nick would seek out map shops to acquire unique additions. Among the notable maps in the collection is an original 17th-century map of Great Britain, which offers a fascinating glimpse into the country's historical boundaries and landmarks. Additionally, we have maps of the Caribbean, a region that holds special significance as it served as our honeymoon destination. Another meaningful addition to the collection is a series of maps from Southeast Asia, where we volunteered for Flame Cambodia, an organization dedicated to empowering underprivileged communities. In the spirit of adventure, our map collection also includes delightful depictions of New Zealand and Great Britain, inspired by the iconic maps found in J.R.R. Tolkien's novels. Some of the maps in our possession have been passed down from Nick's parents, primarily showcasing the English counties of Sussex and Wiltshire, connecting us to their heritage and upbringing.
