Given our current experience we would advise buyers to not wait any longer. So often life comes down to moments in time. To us this feels like a moment of transition. The numbers don’t lie. Our sales numbers, here at UP, for August 2023 outstripped August 2022 by 40%! Yes, we are working hard and have a great team, but you would have to say there is a ‘rustling in the bushes’ of the housing market. We wonder if buyers are looking to purchase using existing loan offers before having to deal with firming interest rates. We note strong activity in the first home buyer market and a return to more normal levels of activity in the higher price brackets.

Of note, about now we normally experience a level of standoff as the nation heads towards election day. Not so much this time around! It feels as though both buyers and sellers are anticipating change and making decisions now and projecting their lives into the new year.

It’s a big weekend for sport with the start of the Rugby World Cup. Go the ABs!
