I feel sad for those sold a s**t sandwich, even if this was always going to happen. At the peak I upset the odd Property Developer who couldn’t handle my market forecast, born out in this article. It simply couldn’t continue.

Like the legendary KIWI in the ‘83 Melbourne Cup, the NZ Housing Market has run its race. Generations of property doubling in value every 7 years are over. The horse has bolted. And it had too. Negative equity statistics in NZ would make scary reading. But here’s the rub, buying a house still makes great sense if you’re after a roof over your head and you’re paying it off. That’s where you’ll make money by reducing debt. Just don’t expect more than that, invest wisely elsewhere and Bobs your uncle.
