Thermal imaging detects temperature differences across surfaces, helping highlight areas associated with moisture, leaks or insulation issues. 🌡️

Think of it as a visual map, helping our inspectors pinpoint areas for further testing.

It’s another piece of the puzzle, not a standalone diagnosis.

𝗙𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝘀 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱.👀

This apron flashing has been surface-fixed to the wall, with the junction relying on sealant to help keep water out.

The problem? Sealant can shrink, deteriorate and separate over time, and you can already see signs of that happening along this junction.

Apron flashings play an important role in managing water where a roof meets a wall. Correct detailing provides layers of protection, rather than relying heavily on a surface-applied sealant to maintain weathertightness. 💧

Common signs of moisture to watch for 👀

👉 Damp marks around windows.
👉 Mould in corners or on ceilings.
👉 Musty smells that won’t go away.
👉 Swollen or stained skirting boards.

Treating mould without addressing the moisture is only a temporary fix.
