Skills Group has released a really important white paper "Multiple Pathways to Success"exploring how New Zealand better supports young people transitioning from school into further education and employment.
One message really stood out to me - we already know what works, but too many students still can’t access it.
Creating clearer vocational and work-integrated pathways gives young people more opportunity, direction, and confidence for their future.

Fear is often just the feeling of stepping outside your comfort zone and last month I felt it in a big way, stepping onto the stage at Skills Institute graduation at the Due Drop Events Centre.

It was a packed auditorium. It was a little scary. But I pushed past the nerves and leaned into it - because this is what we do. We encourage, motivate, and teach our learners to back themselves… so it felt only right to model the same.

I’m incredibly proud to teach in an industry I dearly love, and even prouder to be part of a training provider Skills Institute that truly lives its values -grounded in whanaungatanga and manaakitanga, with real care, connection, and encouragement at the center of everything.. And thanks Caitlin Regal ā¤ļøfor being part of this incredible journey. The best is yet to come🄰🌈

Sharing a little of my journey with our graduates was such a special moment, and I genuinely hope it gave them hope and strength to keep going with their own story.

Graduation is always a reminder that behind every ā€œsuccessā€ is a story, and it’s a real privilege to be part of that.

If you’re in a season that feels hard, stretching, or uncertain- keep showing up. Keep standing. Keep learning. Your next chapter is being built right now.

I’m really looking forward to being part of this year’s International Women’s Day panel, and I’m genuinely honoured to be sitting alongside such an impressive group of women from across the real estate and property management industry.

A huge thank you to Ali Butler & Skills Institute for hosting and creating space for a conversation that goes beyond the highlight reel-the real stories, the real lessons, and the realities of growth, leadership, resilience, and impact.

This kōrero is for anyone in the industry-whether you’re new, established, returning after a break, or stepping into leadership. You don’t have to have it all figured out to begin. Confidence is built through action, capability is built through practice, and impact comes from consistency ,especially through the seasons that stretch you.

At Skills Group we believe learning goes beyond qualifications. It’s about providing industry insights, meaningful connections, and real support for our learners as they grow in their careers. Hope to see you there
