Buying a home? 🏡 Know your title type—it can save you $$ and headaches!

Why? Because it affects what you actually own, your responsibilities, and your costs.

💥 Freehold / Fee Simple
You own both the land and the building outright. You control your property fully, with no shared responsibilities—just follow council rules. The simplest and most common form of ownership.

💥 Cross Lease
Homes on a cross lease are usually standalone houses or townhouses/flats that share ownership of the land with other properties on the same section. You each own a share of the land and lease your house for a nominal amount (usually not demanded). ✨Any changes to your house can need approval from the other owners.✨

💥 Unit Title
You own your unit plus a share of common areas—driveways, lifts, gardens, parking—and pay levies to a body corporate for maintenance and rules.

💥 Leasehold
