You’ve probably seen a lot of noise in the news recently about the new housing density rules, which have come about from the National Policy Statement on Urban Development 2020 🏘

In some regions, this policy will allow three houses on a single site (each up to three storeys high), without any need for resource consent.

The results are in! 💚

We removed a whopping 2,887 litres of litter from our local streets, parks and waterways as part of our Adopt a Street event on 10 November, in support of our charity Sustainable Coastlines.

To understand how litter gets onto our beaches and into our oceans, we have to go upstream. All stormwater drains flow to the sea, so any rubbish that we found and disposed of may have ended up in the drains, then flowed into the moana 🌊
