WHEN HARD WORK STILL FEELS LIKE BO***GE
Today, many people in Papua New Guinea feel like the working system is unfair. Most workers work very hard, but their pay is small, the cost of living is high, and they have almost no control over their jobs. When people depend completely on wages just to survive, it can feel like a modern kind of slavery — not with chains, but with money problems and pressure.
This happens when workers cannot improve their lives, cannot speak up, and do not receive a fair share of the value they help create. Many families work all year yet still struggle to pay for school fees, food, and basic needs.
Leaders and decision-makers need to understand that this problem is real. Workers need fair pay, safe workplaces, honest contracts, and better opportunities. When the working system is fair, people can live with dignity, provide for their families, and build a better future.
