10 days short before he turns 1 year and 3 months old, he can speak a number of words already -- apart from the names of people in the house.
When he wants to go (outside), he says "Ta", which meant "tara". If he wants to go down the living room, he says "baba".
When I ask where his nose is, he points at it and says "nooo". Yes, with a little longer O sound. He also knows what his private part is called.
When he drools, he says "waway" which meant "laway", though he uses that word too for when he spits food.
When he holds a phone or sees the camera, he says "may/mayl" which meant "smile" although he himself doesn't smile. Haha.
When he wants to drive his car, he says "vroomvroom", but he also associates the word with bikes.
When he feels like pooping, he says "pupu", although he sometimes says it too when he farts or when he feels his diaper is full.
When he wants to eat, he says "kan/kang".
He calls his Jollibee lamp toy "bibi".
He knows what a cat is, and he calls it "mingming" or "ssswshhh". Sometimes, you can hear him say "ca". For dogs, he says "do", but he usually forgets this one because he perhaps consider them as cats too. 😂
When he wants to drink milk/water, he says "dede". When he finishes it or if he doesn't want it anymore, he says "wala na". Sometimes, he says it in English too, "no moy" which meant "no more". He also understands that "wala na" means absence, like people leaving or removing objects from his sight & grasp.
When he plays with his piano, he sings "Do-Re-Mi-Fa", though not in a very particular order.
When he doesn't know the word for the thing he wants, for example his toys, he just keeps pointing and says "doon, doon". Then, I'd have to present it to him one by one until we find what he is actually looking for.
Earlier today, he suddenly sat on the stairs and pointed at his shoes and said "Tut". He wanted to wear his shoes. It's the newest word in his vocabulary.
He also knows how to say "no" and "ba-bye", and he sings a lot.
As for the things he can do, well, making me nervous and coming close to a heart attack probably tops the list, especially when he climbs up and down the sofa.
It amazes me . We started from a simple "mama", at ngayon napakarami na nyang alam na salita. I'm excited to see him hold a conversation as he grows older.
P.S. I always remind the people around me not to talk to my child in a "bulol" manner, kahit na baby pa ito. I don't want him to mimic the wrong pronunciation because he thinks it's correct. It's okay and normal for a child na mabulol kapag nag-aaral pa magsalita, as long as we teach what is right, he'll eventually learn it.
