Several activities have been calendared as part of the yuletide festivities in Baguio under the โ€œAn Enchanting Baguio Christmas 2025โ€ program of the city government.

Mayor Benjamin B. Magalong issued Executive Order No. 149, series of 2025, declaring the period from November 20, 2025, to January 4, 2026, for the An Enchanting Baguio Christmas (AEBC) 2025 events and activities.

As in past years, the Botanical Garden will be spruced up by the City Environment and Parks Management Office (CEPMO) for the promise of a nature trip while delighting with the splendor of multi-sensory Christmas offerings from Nov. 20, 2025, to Jan. 4, 2026.

Floribenedicta: Where Flowers Bloom will be the subtheme at the Botanical Garden complete with holiday carols and rhythmic performances as well as yuletide feasts from various food concessionaires.

The local rendition of the world-renowned Christmas fairs traditionally held through the long festive season in European countries will be staged again at the Rose Garden in Burnham Park under the direction of the Baguio Tourism Council (BTC). The fair called โ€œThe Christmas Marketโ€ will host creatively curated chalets, primarily allocated to premium partners and key sponsors showcasing the finest yuletide flavors and unique novelties celebrated for their distinct Christmas charm beginning Nov. 28, 2025.

The traditional ceremonial lighting of the Baguio Christmas Tree atop Session Road is scheduled on Dec. 1 at 6:00 in the evening. The concept, design and ex*****on of the Christmas tree, which will serve as the AEBC centerpiece, are undertaken by the City Buildings and Architecture Office (CBAO), while the overall program implementation will be managed by the Tourism, Culture and Arts Division (TCAD).

On Dec. 1, Session Road will be closed to accommodate the preparations and actual implementation of the Christmas Tree lighting ceremony which will be synchronized with the activation of street and park lights throughout the central business district, as well as the Christmas lights of establishments and homes.

Following the Christmas Tree lighting, the Saint Louis University (SLU) Lantern Parade now in its 17th year shall take center stage from Session Road down to Melvin Jones Football Field to culminate with a unity performance.

The TCAD will curate and manage a vibrant lineup of performances across multiple venues, featuring the talents of the University of the Cordilleras, the University of Baguio, the Philippine Military Academy, Ballet Baguio, and other partner institutions of the cityโ€”designed to fill the season with joy, celebration and expressions of hope, offering inclusive and wholesome entertainment for all ages and spreading the true spirit of Christmas.

All Sundays of December at Session Road Pedestrianization will be for yuletide activities. Street-level restaurants and cafes are encouraged to extend their storefronts onto the sidewalks to offer al fresco-style dining, creating a vibrant promenade that showcases the seasonโ€™s delights.

At the same time, the whole Session Road thoroughfare on Sundays of December will be transformed from a busy vehicle route into a curated stage for live and creative expressions featuring an array of Christmas activities such as chalk art, busking, community-led entertainment and a vintage Volkswagen display to promote well-being and nurture creativity.

A concert and pyrotechnic show at the Melvin Jones Grandstand on the night of Dec. 31 will be managed by the TCAD for the Baguio New Yearโ€™s countdown greeting 2026 with brighter prospects and optimism.

Based on the recorded data of the City Administratorโ€™s Officeโ€”TCAD, the period spanning the last quarter of the year through the first month of the ensuing year has historically recorded the highest number of both domestic and foreign tourist arrivals in Baguio City.

The city attributes the rise in tourist arrivals to the enduring allure of Baguioโ€™s cool climate and its festive atmosphere during the Christmas season, complemented by the various Christmas-themed events and activities organized by the city government and private sector, further boosted by the long holiday breaks from school and work. โ€“ JM Samidan
