As of February 3, 2026, the 21st Davao City Council has approved the ordinance on first reading, led by IT Committee Chair Councilor Bonz Andre Militar. It will now undergo further committee hearings and deliberations before it is fully enacted into law.
𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗜𝗦 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗖𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗭𝗘𝗗 𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗔 𝗖𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗥?
It is a dedicated, secure facility designed to host and safeguard the digital systems of every city department, office, and attached agency. Think of it as a "digital backbone" for the city government that consolidates all records, databases, and online services into one unified and protected infrastructure.

✅ 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀: The ordinance requires clear disaster recovery plans. In the event of a natural disaster or a massive system crash, government records won’t be lost because they will be backed up in a secure, centralized environment.
