Few days ago, may nag-book request sa listing ko
Okay naman sana yung message..
But when I checked their reviews from other hosts?
Ayun na...
- "Rearranged furniture without permission"
- "Threw cigarette butts inside"
- "Brought unapproved guests"
- "Messy kitchen"
Four different hosts.
Pareparehas ng mga sinasabi.
At that point, hindi na coincidence yan.
That's a habit.
So here's what I did...
Nags-search muna ako.
Checked Airbnb's non-discrimination policy.
Kasi ayoko namang mag-decline nang walang dahilan.
Baka mamaya, lalo pang magka-problema.
And here's what I've learned:
One of valid reasons to decline?
Either guest has negative reviews.
Or no reviews at all.
That's literally in Airbnb's own rules.
So I politely declined.
Then I sent Airbnb support this message:
"Hi Airbnb, I declined the booking request because I'm uncomfortable with this guest's past reviews."
That's it.
No long explanation needed.
And then...
"Trip Request Declined."
Ang dami kong kilalang hosts na natatakot mag-decline.
"Baka magalit yung guest."
"Baka ma-penalize ako."
"Baka masira yung Superhost status ko."
Pero isipin mo to:
Yung guest na may negative reviews?
Pwede nilang gawin sa listing mo yung ginawa nila sa iba.
All because you were too polite to say no.
And don't get me wrong...
Nakakapang hinayang naman talaga mag-decline.
Baka wala nang ibang mag-book.
But you know what's worse than an empty calendar?
A damaged property.
A bad review from a guest who didn't respect your home.
A stressful experience na hindi mo naman kailangan pagdaanan.
Your listing is not a public utility.
You are not required to accept every guest.
So next time may booking request ka na may red flags?
Don't ignore your gut.
Check the reviews.
If you're uncomfortable?
Politely decline.
Send that message to Airbnb.
Protect your property.
P.S.
