Barangay Barosbos Mananagat Association (BBMA) is a fisherfolk organization in Carles, Iloilo. BBMA manages a Marine Protected Area with a 51 hectare no-take or core zone and an additional 102 hectare restricted (hook and line only) zone in Barangay Barosbos. Since it's establishment in 2011, BBMA has seen great improvement to marine conditions in the MPA and fish catch has improved in the areas around the MPA. Through the assistance of many local and international non-profits and NGOs and through the motivation of its members, BBMA has been able to successfully implement projects in the MPA. A floating guard house, patrol boats, artificial reef and fish condominiums are just some of the many projects of BBMA.
