Ten years ago, Bo Sanchez challenged me and another friend, Arthur Gindap, to start a ministry called Power Mornings. It was aimed at breaking the busyness of business to feel God. We met every Wednesday with invited entrepreneurs and executives around Makati, Ortigas, and Alabang areas.
Our key verse prompts us to reflect on our purpose and identity. We are not isolated beings but intricately woven into the fabric of God’s creation, sustained by His presence, and animated by His Spirit. Every day, career and life coaches invite us to embrace a holistic view of life, where every experience, mundane or monumental, is infused with meaning and significance.
“To have our being” speaks to the innate longing within every human soul to connect with something greater than ourselves and find fulfillment in communion with the Creator.
In Power Mornings, we help business people to translate this in practical ways—whether they’re in the marketplace, at home, or in church. (By:Dean Pax Lapid)

Reflect:
How can you live with gratitude, reverence, and a profound sense of awe? Do you recognize that your very existence is a testament to God’s love and providence?

Prayer:
Father God, all that I am is from You. Thank You for Your grace and mercy. Guide me to be Your faithful servant. In Jesus’ name.

St. Justus of Urgel, pray for us.

Thank God for Zoom, which allowed us to pray and fellowship with family and friends during the pandemic. Bo Sanchez made sure that our Mastermind group gathered to pray weekly. Despite the uncertainty of those days, we sought the strength and guidance from the Lord and each other.
Our reading today prompts us to reflect on the importance of collective prayer in times of adversity or uncertainty. It highlights the significance of turning to God as a community, drawing strength from each other’s faith and reinforcing a sense of solidarity. Moreover, our prayer wasn’t merely a plea for personal safety or comfort but a recognition of God’s overarching plan.
Today, we are challenged to examine our response to trials. Be inspired to cultivate a deeper reliance on God and find solace in communal prayer, knowing that He is sovereign over all circumstances. – (By: Dean Pax Lapid)

REFLECT:
Do you approach difficulties with fear and doubt? Or do you, like the early believers, seek refuge in prayer and in God’s providence?

”Father God, You are Almighty and sovereign. We know that all the things that You have made are good and for our own good. Help us see You more in our times of trials and anxiety. Amen”

In the early years of our prayer group, we were told to ask what the precious thing the Lord wanted us to surrender and share it with the less fortunate. It wasn’t easy because some of those things were expensive or sentimental items. But everyone willingly came forward to offer to God their possessions. The gifts varied: jewelry, watches, money, appliances, and even real estate.
Everyone’s faces glowed with joy. Nobody cried because they were parting with their possessions. All new that whatever they had came from God and was rightfully to be shared with God’s less fortunate children.
St. Catherine of Siena, whose feast is today, said. “Nothing, great is achieved without much enduring.” The difficult act of surrendering precious belongings proved to our less fortunate brethren that there is a God who provides – and brothers and sisters who care for them. –(By: Reng D. Morelos )

REFLECT:
If God calls you to give up something dear to you and share with you someone who is wanting, will you be willing to let it go to be able to help someone?

”Lord give me a generous heart that I may be willing to share whatever I have with those who are in need.”
