If you’ve been living in many places throughout your life, how do you know which place is really your hometown?
It’s simple. In my opinion, my hometown is where I feel most confident to give answers when someone stops me on the street to ask me for directions.
I was walking my dog this evening, and a rider stopped to ask if I could give him directions to get back to the main road. He couldn’t even remember which gate he entered through (our subdivision has 5) and I gave him the shortest route, complete with easy to remember landmarks. My ease in navigating him out of the subdivision made me realize that even though I have lived in 4 different cities and 2 different countries, Las Pinas City is, without a doubt, my hometown.
My family moved to BF Resort Village in Las Pinas City when it wasn’t even a part of Metro Manila yet. They moved into the house one day and then went to the hospital the next so my mom could give birth to me through c-section. The photo above is of our little bungalow back in the 80s, isn’t it cute? Also, that’s me wearing the pink bonnet!
Back then, the subdivision was filled with more trees and foliage, we even had fireflies at dusk! And the river behind our subdivision was clean. Not all houses had cars, most of the houses were the standard build small bungalows, and I even remember wearing a jacket when we would play out on the street during the ‘ber’ months!
Much has changed in my hometown but it’s stil the place I call home.
If you’re looking to move to BF Resort Village soon, we have some property listings we can recommend.
