People often think being a VA or freelancer means no scams but that’s not the case.
🚫 Fake job posts are out there.
🚫 Shady “clients” or agencies exist.
🚫 And yes… ghoster clients are real too.
👻 Some pay you in the beginning, then suddenly vanish after months of no replies, no payments, nothing.
Being a VA is amazing because we get the freedom to work from home 💻✨but it’s also a risk unless you’re with a solid, long-term client who values you.
That’s why it’s so important to protect yourself:
✅ Always ask for a contract.
✅ Set clear payment terms.
✅ Don’t work for free “tests” without clarity.
✅ Notice the red flags when communication starts fading.
💡 Freelancing = freedom. But that freedom only lasts if we stay smart and protect ourselves.
