A GENTLE REMINDER TO FELLOW REAL ESTATE PRACTITIONERS 🏢🔑
Every property entrusted to us comes with a responsibility.
When conducting property viewings, let’s always observe proper viewing protocols:
1. LOG IN AT THE LOBBY / CONCIERGE
Always register properly and provide the required identification and viewing details.
2. WAIT FOR CONFIRMATION BEFORE GOING UP
Wait for the concierge to confirm that the owner, tenant, or authorized representative has given permission for you and your client to proceed to the unit.
Exception: If the keys have been officially entrusted to the Realtor/Broker/Agent prior to the scheduled viewing, you may proceed to the unit ahead of the client to ensure that it is secure, presentable, and viewing-ready, subject to the property’s building access rules.
3. KNOCK OR RING THE DOORBELL BEFORE ENTERING
Even when you have the key or have already been authorized to enter, always knock or ring the doorbell first before opening the door. This is a basic sign of respect and an important professional practice.
4. NEVER ENTER WITHOUT PROPER AUTHORIZATION
Access to a property should never be assumed. Always follow the owner’s instructions and the building’s security protocols.
As Real Estate Brokers and Agents, we are not only responsible for facilitating transactions and viewings. We are also responsible for protecting our clients’ property, privacy, security, and trust.
A little professionalism and courtesy go a long way.
Let’s protect the properties entrusted to us as if they were our own.
