The Manila Electric Company (Meralco), in coordination with the Pasay City government, will conduct anti-urban blight and anti-dangling wire clearing operations to remove “spaghetti wires” from Jan. 19 to 23.

Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the wire-clearing activities will be implemented in Barangays 164 and 165, which aim to remove excess, idle, and unauthorized wires, commonly known as spaghetti wires, from utility poles and streetscapes.

She said that it will help enhance public safety by preventing accidents such as fires, electrocution, and traffic disruptions, while also improving urban aesthetics and decluttering the city.
