Sometimes life teaches us lessons in the most unexpected ways.
I have learned that not everyone who holds your hand is ready to stay, and not everyone who shares your days will choose you in the end.
If you did not want this anymore, I truly wish you had told me calmly, honestly, and with the same kindness I tried to give. I would have respected that. I have always believed that endings do not have to be cruel.
What hurt was not the goodbye. It was the way the words were thrown, sharp enough to make me forget we ever had gentle days.
I wish you looked back, even for a moment, at everything we went through. The laughter, the patience, the choices we made for each other. All of it, before you let those hurtful words fall.
But maybe that is part of the lesson too.
Not everyone will honor the story the way you do.
Not everyone will remember the good before they choose to leave.
And so I choose peace.
I choose to forgive for my own sake.
I choose to walk forward, carrying only the parts of the story that made me softer, stronger, and a little wiser.
Because endings are not failures.
Sometimes they are simply a gentle reminder to return to yourself.
