Ayala Land is growing its hotel portfolio through a mix of homegrown and foreign brands, while staying open to strategic acquisitions.
In the middle of 2025, an opportunity opened up and the company moved to acquire the 578-room New World Makati from Hong Kong-listed New World Development Co. Ltd.
The price tag, disclosed for the first time in its annual report on Tuesday, was revealed at P1.7 billion.
Ayala Land’s hospitality portfolio now totals over 4,600 rooms across hotels and resorts, with occupancy at around 68 percent for hotels and 42 percent for resorts.
The portfolio also includes Seda properties, international brands such as Fairmont, Raffles, Holiday Inn, as well as resort assets like El Nido Resorts in Palawan.
The company is also building a pipeline of more than 1,500 additional rooms, including new developments such as the 276-room Mandarin Oriental Makati, which is expected to open this year.
