Why is it important to protect and defend the forests in Pakil, Laguna? Because they are home to many endemic plant species with various growth forms (e.g., shrubs, vines, trees). One example is the ๐˜๐˜ฐ๐˜บ๐˜ข ๐˜ฑ๐˜ช๐˜ฎ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฏ๐˜ต๐˜ฆ๐˜ญ๐˜ช๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ข shown in the picture. This species of Hoya is unique to the Philippines and cannot be found growing naturally in other countries. Thatโ€™s why we must continue to fight for the preservation of our forests, not only in Pakil, Laguna, but throughout the Philippines.
