BREAKING: Rockwell taps global architect Carlos Ott for decade-long Alabang Town Center revamp

The developer is planning the redevelopment of the 17.5-hectare property, which was originally developed by Ayala Land in the 1980s before it was acquired by the Madrigal family and then flipped to Rockwell in late 2025.

"We will bring back the old charm of the town, as the locals like to call ATC. Over the next five to ten years, our vision is to transform the town to become a suburban lifestyle center," says Rockwell chair and CEO Nestor Padilla.

WORLD-CLASS PICKLEBALL AT TENNIS CENTER SA CAVITE, ITATAYO SA VERMOSA

CAVITE — Isang malaking hakbang para sa sports development sa bansa ang nakatakdang mangyari sa Cavite matapos makipagpartner ang Ayala Land, Inc. (ALI) sa Philippine Tennis Center for Excellence, Inc. (PTCEI) para sa pagtatayo ng isang world-class International Tennis Center sa Vermosa.

Ang pasilidad ang magiging tahanan ng Philippine Tennis Academy (PTA) at magtatampok ng walong competition tennis courts, isang center court, at 16 pickleball courts. Magkakaroon din ito ng mga training at wellness facilities, pati na rin ng Athletes’ Quarters na kayang tumanggap ng 60 hanggang 80 trainees.

Bagama't magsisilbi itong pangunahing training facility ng PTA, magiging bukas din ito sa publiko upang mas maraming Pilipino ang magkaroon ng access sa dekalidad na tennis at pickleball facilities, coaching programs, at iba pang sports development opportunities.

Bukod sa pagpapalawak ng sports programs, inaasahan ding magdadala ang proyekto ng dagdag na trabaho para sa mga residente sa paligid ng Vermosa. Kabilang dito ang mga posisyon para sa coaches, trainers, court maintenance personnel, administrative staff, at maging mga ball boys, na makatutulong sa pagpapalago ng kabuhayan at lokal na ekonomiya.

Mas lalo ring pinalalakas ng proyekto ang Vermosa Sports Hub bilang isa sa mga pangunahing sentro ng training at kompetisyon para sa iba't ibang sports sa bansa.

Ayon kay incoming ALI Senior Project Development Manager John Estacio, bahagi ito ng layunin ng Vermosa na pagsamahin ang edukasyon, sports, at komunidad sa isang integrated estate.

Samantala, sinabi naman ng pamunuan ng PTA na higit pa sa isang training facility ang kanilang itinatayo.

"Hindi lamang ito lugar para sa pagsasanay ng mga atleta. Isa itong pagkakataon upang mas maraming Pilipino, anuman ang kanilang pinanggalingan, ang magkaroon ng access sa tennis, matuklasan ang kanilang potensyal, at maging bahagi ng lumalawak na tennis community sa bansa," ayon sa kanilang pahayag.

Itinatag nina philanthropists at tennis enthusiasts na sina Oscar Hilado at Romeo Chan ang PTA, na kilala sa pagtutok sa grassroots sports development at pagtulong sa mga batang atleta, kabilang ang mga mula sa underserved communities.

Kabilang sa mga naging produkto ng programa sina Tennielle Madis at Stefi Marithe Aludo, na nagwagi ng bronze medal sa women's doubles event ng 2025 Southeast Asian Games. Kamakailan lamang ay muling nagpakitang-gilas si Madis matapos masungkit ang kampeonato sa Philta Women's Open.

Sa pagtatayo ng bagong International Tennis Center, inaasahang mas mapapalawak pa ang oportunidad para sa susunod na henerasyon ng mga Pilipinong atleta at mas mailalapit sa publiko ang world-class tennis at pickleball facilities dito mismo sa Cavite. 🎾🏓🇵🇭

Ayala Corp. is entering Thailand through a partnership with Thai retail giant CP AXTRA Public Co. Ltd, marking the conglomerate’s first move into one of Southeast Asia’s largest and most competitive retail markets.

The partnership centers on improving and redeveloping Makro commercial sites in Thailand, expanding Ayala’s regional footprint beyond the Philippine mall business.
