BREAKING: Ayala Land keeps Market! Market! until 2039, sets P1-B revamp

Ayala Land Inc. will keep operating Market! Market! until end-2039 after securing a 12-year and seven-month lease extension and committing P1 billion to modernize the Bonifacio Global City mall.

The new lease with the Bases Conversion and Development Authority starts June 5, 2027, extending Ayala Land-led Station Square East Commercial Corp.’s control of the property.

“We are committed to reinventing and modernizing Market! Market! for its next act,” Ayala Land president and CEO Meean B. Dy said.

The investment will prepare the mall for the planned Bonifacio Global City station of the Metro Manila Subway, which will be built within the Market! Market! property.

The redevelopment will integrate retail with rail and road connections, turning one of BGC’s oldest commercial centers into a major transport hub.

Ayala Corp. keeps buying the stock, the developer is spending more again, and even half the buyers of its stalled P28-billion Laurean project chose to wait rather than take their money back.
