KARACHI: After discussions with the International Financial Facility (IFC), Pakistan will move on with the sale via tender of a contract to administer Islamabad Airport, the Ministry of Finance stated on Thursday. (Reported by News Source)

ISLAMABAD: Pir Sohawa Road, which connects the government capital and Khyber- Pakhtunkhwa province to the scenic Margalla Hills National Park, is being considered for dualization by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) (KP). (Reported by news source)

LAHORE: Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) has shared the statistics on cement dispatches for the month of June 2023. (Reported by News Source)
According to APCMA’s consolidated data, it shows that cement shipments declined in June 2023. The total value of cement despatches was recorded at 4.063 million tons, which shows a decrease of 22.8% compared to 5.364 million tons in the corresponding month of the previous month.

Further, the data revealed a significant drop in local cement despatches by the industry in the month of June 2023, which showed a 29.97% decline compared to 4.979 million tons.

In June 2023, cement shipments from northern mills to local markets were 2.855 million tons, showing a decline of 30.75% compared to 4.122 million tons despatch in June 2022. Similarly, the southern mills despatched 632,093 tons in local markets during June 2023, this represents a 26.23% decrease compared to the despatches
of 856,863 tons in June 2022.

While exports from the northern mills declined by 1.88%, from 97,163 tons in June 2022 to 95,333 tons in June 2023. In contrast, exports from the southern region increased by 156.78% to 480,976 tons in June 2023 from 187,308 tons in the same month last year.

ISLAMABAD: The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and the capital development authority have joined hands for the Sikander-e-Azam road construction with the aim of promoting tourism in Gandhara. (Reported by news Source)

According to the new source, CDA and the KP government are expected to complete the 20 KM joint road project in four months. However, it will take approximately 6 months to lay the road in Margalla Hills. A 7.5-kilometer stretch of road is being carpeted by the CDA authority via Shah Allah Dita to village Kainthla, while the KP
government will complete the remaining Sikandar-e-Azam road to Khanpur.

With the completion of the road project, the distance between Islamabad and Haripur will be shortened, saving both fuel and time. As a result, Khanpur Lake will be reached in 30 minutes of time.

Work on the project was conducted by the National Highway Authority (NHA) and Frontier Works Organization (FWO).
