⚽ 1ST LEAGUE MATCH | FERREIRAS 5–2 FCCU
A heavy scoreline that doesn’t tell the whole story of the match.
We started well and took the lead through Vítor Santos, from a penalty won by Francisco Pereira. Ferreiras equalised to make it 1–1; we were reduced to 10 men following a controversial sending-off and, shortly afterwards, found ourselves 2–1 down.
Even with a man down, the team didn’t give up. We managed to level the score at 2–2, with Francisco Pereira finishing off a pass from Henrique Santos, showing character, unity and a determination to fight for the result.
In the closing stages, Ferreiras capitalised on their numerical advantage and scored three more goals, sealing a 5–2 victory.
Anyone who was there and watched the match will certainly feel that the final score is misleading given what happened on the pitch. But we’re not looking for excuses.
It’s time to pull together, unite and learn. To correct what we did wrong, hold on to what we did well and keep working. This was only our first league match and we have a long way to go. 🧡🖤
A special thank you to our 12th man. Even for an away match, there were many of you who made a point of coming along to support Carvoeiro United. Your support makes all the difference. 🙌
TOGETHER WE ARE STRONGER. 🧡🖤
