𝑼𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝑵𝒆𝒘 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕!

We’ve been through interesting times since August when our property management company dumped us (and others) in the middle of peak season and shifted us to another company which did not work out to our satisfaction. In the process we lost 75% of our linen and had complaints about cleanliness.

As of January 2025, our house is being managed by Boaz Rentals, and we have extended the rental to include the whirlpool bath for our guests.

They will look after all your needs and handle all aspects of the bookings. We have full confidence in this young, dynamic team – with their head office located conveniently close to us in Carvoeiro.

𝑬𝒔𝒄𝒂𝒑𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒖𝒏𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒆!
Nestled above the picturesque fishing village of Ferragudo, this new 3-bedroomed villa (sleeps 6) is 10 minutes from Portimão in the middle of the popular Algarve, Portugal.
Ferragudo has no shortage of beaches, and most are within a couple of kilometers of our house. Nearest restaurants and shops are 1.2km away in Ferragudo. We often amble down to the village to pick up a few things or have dinner and walk home.
Located in Ferragudo Design Villas with a communal pool, the 170m² house on 360m² has an enclosed garden, wooden sun deck with outdoor dining, a whirlpool bath and barbeque.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮 𝗳𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀:
- 3 bedrooms on two levels, all en-suite with doors leading outside to terraces or the garden and with plenty of cupboard space. The open-plan living / dining / kitchen area has huge glass sliding doors on three sides, giving the entire downstairs area it's unique, open and airy feeling. It includes a workstation.
- Our house is managed by Boaz Rentals.
- No pets. Children are welcome, but stairs are unguarded and kiddie furniture can be hired through the managing agents.
- The house is available to rent short-term (min 7 - 10 days).

𝗜𝘀 𝗦𝗶𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴?
A definite yes, the town has a very different atmosphere to the beach resorts and is the most accessible traditional Portuguese town close to the eastern resort towns. It is an historic town that was originally the ancient capital of the Algarve. The city has many popular attractions such as Silves Cathedral, Castle of Silves, Algar de Benagil, Museu Municipal de Arqueologia and Mercado Municipal de Silves.

It offers excellent value for money with amost restaurants and cafes priced for locals and not over-inflated for tourists.

Several tour operators offer scenic boat trips up the Arade river to Silves, usually a return trip with sometime allowed to explore Silves. But they don't run every day.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁?
Taberna de Portimão is a charming restaurant in the centre of Old Portimão, serving local flavours and Algarvian dishes. Packed with antiques and traditional tavern decor, and with live music every night, Taberna de Portimão recreates the fun and relaxed atmosphere of taverns of old. Open every day except Sunday, for lunch and dinner, stepping into Taberna de Portimão is like stepping into the past. You can even get a haircut at the barbershop across the road! Same family.

𝗙𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗱𝗼 𝗩𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗴𝗲
The quaint little town of Ferragudo is characterised by fishermen’s cottages, whitewashed buildings, and narrow cobbled streets. It’s one of the prettiest towns on the Algarve and, although the town’s focus is now tourism rather than fishing, Ferragudo has been fairly unaffected by the worst parts of tourism: you won’t find any neon or high-rise hotels here.

Fishing is still a big part of Ferragudo’s culture and is constantly happening in the background. Walk down to the harbour and you can watch the fishermen as they moor up with that day’s catch. Living here allows you to do as the chefs and restaurants owners do and buy directly from them.

𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗳𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗸𝘀:
The Headlands Trail is a 7 km walk, signposted and with relevant information along the cliffs, between the parking lot of the Ferragudo Jetty (a little upstream from the Ponta do Altar Lighthouse) and Praia do Paraíso, in Carvoeiro.

Undulating and stoney, with uneven steep paths. Wear good walking boots. Take your camera, wear a hat and don't do it in the middle of a hot summers day :). Stunning scenery right on the cliff edge. Allow 2.5 hours.

For the less adventurous, starting from Ferragudo, you can also easily walk a part of the trail, just a couple of kilometers to the lighthouse and back.
