30 year old basin — sorted same day as scheduled 🔧

Called out to Lagoa this week for a leaking basin. The waste
rubber had completely perished from age — at that point it’s
not a matter of if it leaks, it’s a matter of how badly.
The PVC pipework behind the basin was also loose and damaged,
which had gone unnoticed but was just as much of a problem.

Replaced the old waste with a new click-clack basin waste,
repiped and secured the damaged PVC section, tested everything
thoroughly — no more leaks.

Booked a week in advance, arrived exactly on time. That’s how
it should work.

From unboxing to fully installed and running 🔧

A commercial cleaners room installation — new hot water
heater wall-mounted on a fabricated bracket, copper pipework run and clipped neatly along the wall, and a stainless steel hand basin installed and connected with all supply and waste lines done properly.

Everything in a commercial environment needs to be functional, accessible for future servicing, and done to a standard that lasts. Pipework clipped at regular intervals, valves positioned where they can actually be reached, and the whole job signed off properly before leaving site.

Irrigation done properly — not just functional, but neat 🌿

Installed new irrigation pipework along this terrace for a
villa in the Algarve. The brown irrigation pipe follows the
natural line of the step edge, clipped at regular intervals
so it sits flush and doesn’t move. Barely noticeable once
the garden is in full use — which is exactly the point.

There’s no reason irrigation pipework has to look messy.
A bit of care in how it’s routed and fixed makes a big difference to how the finished job looks — especially on
a terrace or outdoor area you actually spend time in.

Why the right silicone matters more than people think 🧱

This expansion joint had been sealed with a standard internal-grade silicone — fine for an indoor bathroom, but completely the wrong product for an exterior wall taking full sun and weather. Cracked, peeling, and pulling away from both surfaces, which leaves the gap exposed to water getting in behind the render.

Stripped out all the old silicone and resealed properly with Sikaflex — a heat and UV resistant exterior-grade sealant built to actually handle the Algarve sun rather than fail within a year or two. Clean line, proper bond, done once and done right.

It’s a small detail, but using the wrong product for the job is exactly the kind of shortcut that costs homeowners more down the line. Worth getting it right the first time.

Sometimes the fix isn’t behind the wall — it’s the wall itself 🚽

Major blockage in this commercial washroom’s urinal line. No amount of rodding from the front was going to clear it — the only way to properly get to the problem was to uninstall both urinals completely, run a Ridgid drain coil through the line from behind the wall, clear the blockage at the source, then reinstall and reseal everything from scratch.

Not the quickest job on the list, but it’s the difference between a temporary fix and one that actually lasts. Both units back up, sealed, and working properly.

Commercial or residential, if it’s blocked, I’ll find a way
to clear it properly — not just clear it for now.

New guttering, fully installed 🛠️

Old gutters were broken, rusted and not draining properly — when it
rains, that water needs somewhere to go that isn’t down the wall.
Got the new run fitted, downpipes connected, and everything
sealed up properly.

This is the kind of job that gets put off for months because
no one fancies explaining “the gutter’s broken” in Portuguese.
Sorted in a day.
