Some news from the cliff.

This week Airbnb named us Superhosts. It arrived quietly, in the middle of an ordinary day, and we both just sat and smiled at it for a while.

A year ago we opened the doors to Vista and Waterfront hoping our guests would feel looked after. Every early check-in, every recommendation, every little gift left on the table was our way of saying welcome. This badge is simply your way of saying it back.

A year ago we handed over the first set of keys to Vista and Waterfront, and wondered who would come.

They came from all over Europe and beyond. They had their morning coffee on the balcony, came back muddy from the levada walks, and told us about the planes gliding in over the ocean. One guest wrote that they left as friends of the house, and that is exactly how it felt to us too!

Somewhere along the way, those stays added up to guest favorite 9.9 on Booking.com and five stars on Airbnb. But what we will remember are the people.
