Today, on World Farmed Animals Day, we celebrate some of the residents who make Quinta da Carlota what it is. 🐔🦆🌿

Here, our farm animals are free to move around the Quinta, explore their surroundings and simply behave like animals.

They are not here as part of a show. They are part of everyday life, sharing the space with us and, quite often, crossing paths with our guests.

Today, on Portugal’s National Sustainability Day, the focus is on what grows right here at Quinta da Carlota. 🌱

Some of the fruit, vegetables and herbs served at the Quinta come from our own orchard and vegetable garden.

Because they are grown on site, some ingredients can reach our kitchen without spending hours travelling from a distant supplier, while also following what is available at each time of year.

It is part of the everyday rhythm of the Quinta, and something our guests can see growing during their stay.
