Living in Pampanga costs around ₱25,000-₱35,000 monthly for one person, covering rent, food, transport, utilities, savings and ‘luho’.
The Cost of Living in Pampanga (2025):
Rent and transpo are the dealbreakers. These are the two most important things you need to carefully decide, either you'll live comfortably or just survive.
Let's break it down.
If you're staying in the "Tri-Cities of Pampanga" which are San Fernando, Mabalacat and Angeles, one bedroom apartment can have a minimum rent for as low as ₱5,500 only but if you move closer to the plaza or busiest spots expect ₱8,000 or more.
And if you're working inside the Clark Freeport Zone, the minimum rent for a studio apartment is ₱22,000 but mostly locals who are working in Clark restaurants/cafes rent in Sapangbato which is cheaper. But some locals preferred shared apartments or boarding house because it's the cheapest and can go as low ₱2,000 or less in sharing rent. One bedroom apartment outside the tri-cities can go as low as ₱3,000 or less depending on the location.
For transportation, it's easy as pie, the minimum jeepney fare is ₱13.00 or more. If you're working inside Clark Freeport Zone, there are loop buses which are also cheap. The minimum fare is ₱15.00 only but air-conditioned and comfortable. And if you're in a hurry, you can for a Maxim (Pampanga's angkas/joyride/moveit/grab). The minimum fare is ₱40.00 for at least 1km. The tricycles are overpriced and can go as low as ₱100.00 for a km if it will pass by the highway. That's why locals don't recommend choosing apartments far from the highway.
For food and groceries, locals reported a spending of ₱8,000 monthly. Carenderias and fast food chains are almost the same prices that's why some locals preferred cooking at home.
For utilities, electricity averages around ₱600 if you don't have appliances, water around ₱400, and internet around ₱
