After a very casual 4-year hiatus (because… life), I’m back — and I’m bringing a full table with me. Plot twist: I didn’t vanish. I was just marinating.
Last night, I cooked a Sri Lankan New Year’s dinner for family and friends — a way of celebrating my roots, my people, and the beautiful chaos that is April 14th in every Sri Lankan heart.
Cooking for the people I love has always been my quiet way of saying “I see you, I love you, I’m glad you’re here.” It’s messy, it’s loud, it sometimes involves questionable amounts of chili… but it’s pure joy.
Sri Lankan New Year is a celebration of fresh starts, good fortune, and gloriously overcatering — and honestly, what better way to resurface than with a meal that says everything I probably haven’t posted about for four years?
This page is officially reopening for food, family, friends, heritage, and a little delicious chaos. Thanks for pulling up a chair. Let’s eat.
