IMPACT of the new EC rules

major EC policy changes aimed at reducing speculation and improving affordability for genuine homebuyers.

Here are the 4 key changes:

1️⃣ MOP extended from 5 → 10 years
2️⃣ Deferred Payment Scheme (DPS) removed
3️⃣ 90% of EC units reserved for first-timers (for first 2 years of sales)
4️⃣ Full privatisation extended from 10 → 15 years

📌 Effective from 8 May 2026 for NEW EC land tenders only.

❌ Existing EC projects already launched for sale are NOT affected.
