Strata Landed housing developments have been gaining popularity in recent years, esp. among families with young children and more recently, fuelled partly by demand for larger spaces to work from home.

Strata Landed housing offer home buyers a housing option that combines landed housing living with communal facilities and greenery such as those available in private condos.

Sales of Strata Landed homes are at their strongest in a decade. Buyers picked up over 160 units in 2Q2021. Since 2015, the total new supply of Strata Landed homes stand at just 725 units.

The upscale River Valley neighbourhood has become a hotspot for new condo launches lately - thanks to the 2017/18 en bloc fever. As at Q2 2020, there were 73,456 landed properties in Singapore. This represents only a mere 5% of total resident households in Singapore who live in landed homes.
For those looking to buy a landed home, here is a typical dilemma. Should you buy a resale property and renovate it? Or purchase a ready-built home?
Some feel that the former is more cost-effective, but this may not always be the case, since renovation costs can come up to a hefty sum, not forgetting the time and inconvenience too.
On the other hand, with a ready-built home, there are no unpleasant surprises or extra costs. Simply step in and you can begin a new chapter of your life.
Either way, in land-scarce Singapore, the value of owning a piece of land cannot be understated.
