Three malls, a business district, three MRT stations and a plethora of makan options (lots of halal ones too!) available, Tampines is to me, the Crowning Jewel of the East. I’m biased, I live in Tampines too, and can’t imagine living anywhere else in Singapore. What are some of your favourite spots in Tampines? Wait, are you a fan to begin with?

Ya ya we get ragged, Tampines is busy lah, hectic lah, bustling lah, HQ for the you-know-who lah, but you can’t deny the amazing amenities this estate has. There’s literally nowhere else in Singapore like Tampines.

Heading to the West - my first pick being Jurong East. Modern, full of amenities, contains a health hub and the ultra famous Jurong East MRT Interchange that connects the red and green lines, Jurong East is a formidable town of its own. Though prices here differ from the property value in the East side of Singapore, Jurong East can be considered a jewel of the West. It’s damn far from where I live and I know I sound corny when I say so. Singapore is tiny! How can anywhere be far?!

Tell that to the person who has to go the entire length of the PIE to get from Tampines to Jurong East, it’ll take you close to 30 mins - which, by Singapore standards, is far!

Forget boring old neighborhoods! Orchard Road is great, but let's be real, it's like the same old movie everyone's seen. Singapore's got some hidden gems – neighbourhoods that are hotter than a plate of chicken rice on a sweltering day!

Think trendy cafes, waterfront views, and maybe even a future spaceport (okay, maybe not that last one, but hey, dreams are free!)

Koon Seng Road looking like it got lost in a Holi celebration, huh? But these aren't your average colourful shophouses! Built in the 1920s by Peranakans (think: Chinese and Malay cousins throwing a cultural party!), they almost got demolished! Luckily, they got "conserved" in the 90s and are now Singapore's most colourful street

Fun fact: The road's named after Cheong Koon Seng, a businessman (some say he was a real estate agent) back in 1934. Maybe he saw the property potential even then, eh?

Now they're worth millions – ranging from anywhere between 2 to 6 million Singapore dollars now - see, should've listened to your uncle and bought one when they were "cheap"!

Either way, got to say, a man with a plan (and maybe a budget for furniture that isn't beanbags) is a definite green flag in my book!
