To keep prices at coffee shops affordable, the Housing & Development Board will be tendering out such shops using the “Price-Quality Method”.

Under this approach, the evaluation will not just be based on price but also the quality of the proposal, and that includes the affordability of the food options.

A good example is FoodTastic coffee shop in Choa Chu Kang Ave 1, which was launched last year. Their rental bid was 40% less than the highest bid. But they were awarded the tender because of their affordably-priced food options and the use of technology to boost productivity.

Participants of Discovering Singapore's Best Kept Secrets were at 5 Kadayanallur Street this morning. The State property which was formerly the St Andrew's Mission Hospital for Women and Children houses a 1929-built elevator which is believed to be the oldest lift in Singapore now.
