Headline: 🇸🇬 Major Housing Updates from NDR 2026! 🏘️✨
Here is everything you need to know about the new HDB & BTO policy changes announced by PM Lawrence Wong:
🔹 Higher Income Ceilings 💰
BTO Flats: Raised to $16,000 (up from $14,000)
Executive Condos (ECs): Raised to $18,000 (up from $16,000)
Singles (Age 35+): Raised to $8,000 (up from $7,000)
Note: Takes effect for HDB Flat Eligibility (HFE) letters applied from Aug 24, 2026!
🔹 More Kids = Better BTO Chances! 👶
First-timer families will receive 1 EXTRA ballot chance for each Singaporean child (aged 18 and below).
This also applies to married couples with a doctor’s certification of pregnancy!
Takes effect starting February 2027.
🔹 Next BTO Launch Moved to November 🗓️
To give buyers time to adjust their plans and apply for their HFE letters, the upcoming BTO exercise is pushed from October to November 2026.
Tip: Submit all required documents for your HFE letter by Sep 25, 2026.
Look out for ~7,960 flats launching across Bedok, Geylang, Sembawang, Tengah, Toa Payoh, and Yishun!
🔹 More Help for Larger Families & Seniors 👵👴
Income ceiling hikes will also apply to the Parenthood Provisional Housing Scheme, Fresh Start Housing Scheme, and various senior housing grants (like the Lease Buyback Scheme).
The government is also looking into additional housing and transport support for larger families.
