Details of Messi’s Visit
Messi landed in Barcelona yesterday on a private flight from Fort Lauderdale Airport (Miami) at around 2:30 p.m., accompanied by his close circle and his Argentine friend Rodrigo De Paul.
The two took advantage of their call-up to the Argentina national team camp in Alicante on Monday, deciding to travel one day earlier to spend a few relaxing hours in the city of Barcelona.
🏨 After a quiet day, Messi — despite owning a house in Castelldefels — chose to stay at the Princesa Sofía Hotel, together with his longtime friend and assistant Pepe Costa, who has accompanied him for many years in Barcelona.
Interestingly, the room booked for him overlooked Camp Nou, and only four or five fans happened to see him.
Some waited by Exit -2, which is usually used by celebrities, hoping to catch a glimpse of him. But Messi surprised everyone when he simply walked out through the main entrance, like any ordinary guest.
🍽️ In the evening, Messi had dinner with De Paul at a well-known restaurant in the city, famous for its calm atmosphere and a favorite spot among footballers visiting Barcelona.
After dinner, the two headed to Camp Nou.
There, in front of the Tanatori de Les Corts building, Messi got out of the car to take in the renovation work at the stadium that had been his home for more than twenty years.
At that moment, he was spotted by a Barça fan, well known around the club’s training facilities, who happened to be passing by — the fan couldn’t contain his excitement and called out Messi’s name.
Messi smiled, took a photo with him, and from that same spot entered the stadium, stepping once again onto the pitch where he wrote the greatest chapters of his own and football’s history.
✈️ After the visit, Messi and De Paul quietly returned to the hotel to rest for a few hours, before taking a private flight this morning to Alicante, where they officially joined the Argentina national team camp.
