Phayao Photography Biennale 2025
The Office of Contemporary Art and Culture (OCAC), Ministry of Culture in collaboration with ARTCADE and the Department of Art and Design, Faculty of Architecture and Fine Arts, University of Phayao, cordially invites you to attend the Phayao Photography Biennale 2025.

Exhibition Period: January 17 – April 20, 2025
Exhibition Venues: Eight distinguished locations throughout Phayao City, including ArtCade, PyeSpace, "Don’t Be Selfish Place," Wat Sri Khom Kham, Harmony in Town, Nithan Ban Tonmai, Muang Thong Rama, Mae Tam Boon Yong School, and public spaces along the Kwan Phayao waterfront.

"Past, Present, Future"
Photography is often described as a medium that captures a specific moment in time, preserving stories and memories. A single shutter release in the present can create a historical artifact within a fraction of a second. These images become tools for transmitting narratives and events to future generations whether as personal recollections, historical accounts, or resources for the development of new knowledge.
Today, photography’s status as an art form is indisputable. It has emerged as a powerful medium for artists to convey their thoughts and emotions. Nevertheless, debates persist regarding whether photography is solely a tool for documenting reality or whether it must originate from traditional photographic equipment. What is irrefutable, however, is that these works of art serve as profound reflections of temporal and narrative dimensions, illustrating the dynamic transformations of economic, social, political, and cultural landscapes.

About the Festival
Marking its second edition, the Phayao Photography Biennale proudly presents a distinguished collection of over 400 works created by more than 30 esteemed photographers and artists, both from Thailand and abroad.
This year’s exhibitions are made possible through the generous support and collaboration of renowned networks of photographers, artists, and photography organizations in Thailand. Partners include the Chiangmai House of Photography , The Royal Photographic Society of Thailand (RPST Exposures), Hub of Photography (HOP), Realframe, CTypeMag, เนกาถีบ, Street Photo Thailand, Manimekhalai Gallery, and PHAYAO PHOTO CLUB.
