День мотоцикла сегодня!

29 августа 1885 года немецкий инженер Готлиб Даймлер получил патент на "повозку для верховой езды на керосиновом двигателе". Которая и стала первым мотоциклом.

Даймлер модернизировал велосипед с деревянной рамой - прикрепив к нему мотор, мощностью 0,5 лошадиных сил.
Разгонявший мотоцикл до 12 км/ч.

С изобретением шин, мотоцикл, переставший быть "костедробилкой" (по словам Майбаха) стал очень популярен. Но и после того как подешевели авто, мото имеют своих приверженцев. Владельцы железных коней - байкеры предпочитают мчаться в седле. И что-то в этом есть, раз уж каждый год продаётся 40 млн. новых мотоциклов.
