The daughter of Bohdan Harvylyshyn - co-founder and first director of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Christine Bartukh, will solemnly open the 26th Global Business Week, which will also be held in Davos on July 9-17, 2026, with her speech.

In 2026, the whole world celebrates the 100th anniversary of Bohdan Havrylyshyn.

October 19, 2026 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Bohdan Dmytrovych Havrylyshyn - an outstanding Ukrainian who made a significant contribution to the formation of Ukrainian statehood, the development of education, economy, public administration, international relations and civil society.

Professor Hawrylyshyn was an advisor to the first President of Ukraine, four Chairmen of the Verkhovna Rada and three Prime Ministers, actively involved in the development of Ukrainian statehood, forming effective institutions and promoting the ideas of responsible leadership. In 1991, Bohdan Hawrylyshyn became co-chairman of the Consultative and Advisory Council under the Presidium of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine - a body that over the next seven years contributed to the emergence of Ukraine as an independent state on the European and world map.

As a man of global stature, Bohdan Hawrylyshyn contributed to the integration of Ukraine into the world community. He was the first Ukrainian to become a member of the Club of Rome. In addition, he was a member of the World Academy of Arts and Sciences, the International Academy of Management. Since 1968, he has headed the International Institute of Management in Geneva. The International Institute of Management in India (MIM-Delhi) and the World Economic Forum in Davos, which plays a key role in shaping global economic policy. In Ukraine, with the assistance of Bohdan Hawrylyshyn, the MIM-Kyiv Business School was founded and the International Renaissance Foundation was opened.

Bohdan Hawrylyshyn always believed that sustainable development is possible only under the condition of responsible leadership. His special contribution to the development of education was manifested in supporting youth initiatives and creating informal educational programs for young people. His autobiography “I Remain Ukrainian” is a source of inspiration for millions of Ukrainians, and the book “Guidelines for the Future. Towards Effective Societies”, translated into dozens of languages, has become an important reference point for managers and public leaders. Bohdan Hawrylyshyn’s scientific output includes more than 100 works on management, management education, economic and political spheres.
