❣️❣️❣️The truth no one talks about. ❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️
Closed this one Friday and it took me time to reflect on this one.
Some closings are about the house.
Some are about the people.
And every once in a while, you have one that reminds you exactly why this career means so much more than contracts, negotiations, and keys.
This closing was, by far, one of the hardest I’ve ever walked through, but not for just one reason.
My client is someone I’ve known since I was very young. Someone I genuinely love and care about. She made the decision to close this chapter and move to another state to be closer to her family, and although I knew this day was coming, I wasn’t prepared for how emotional it would feel.🩷
When I left her at the closing office, I cried.
Because sometimes you don’t realize just how much people have become a part of your heart until you’re watching them leave. ❤️
And then there was the transaction itself.😬
What should have been a straight road somehow turned into an obstacle course. One hurdle after another. Difficult conversations,
UNNECESSARY TENSION (it was bad), and even some unkind words along the way.
Years ago, I probably would have felt like I needed to respond to every comment, defend myself, or prove a point.🫥
Experience teaches you differently. 🙏🏼
It teaches you that not everything deserves a reaction. ✅
It teaches you to stay focused on the person who trusted you.
And most importantly, it teaches you that being a great agent isn’t about handling every transaction the exact same way.
You have to know how to mold yourself to your client their personality, their circumstances, their goals, and what they need from you in that particular season of their life.
Every client is different.
Every story is different.
Every transaction is different.
My job was never to win an argument.
My job was to get my client to the finish line, protect her interests, carry as much of the stress as I could for her, and help her close this chapter with peace.
And we did.
This one tested my patience.
It tested my experience.
It tested my ability to stay quiet when I could have said plenty.
But more than anything, it reminded me why I do what I do.
Real estate will always be about houses.
But for me, it will always be about people first.❤️❤️
Today I didn’t just close a property.
I hugged someone I love goodbye and watched her begin a brand-new chapter.
And that’s one closing I’ll never forget. ❤️🏡
