Cartersville council members approved a resolution for a $100,000 homestead exemption for Cartersville homeowners during their meetingThursday night. This next goes to state legislators and if approved, voters in November. Council members also heard from a resident of Deerfield Estates who said juveniles from a nearby apartment complex cut a hole in her fence and potentially caused $8,000 in property damage. While complimenting the Cartersville Police Dept, she is asking the city of Cartersville to take action that results in more than a “slap on the wrist”.
