Yesterday was one of those days that reminds me why I chose the career I did.

My friend's home sat on the market for nearly a year. We pulled it off for a few months over the summer to regroup. Two days after relisting it, a sweet couple who were first-time buyers asked to see it, and they just knew the moment they walked in. We'd toured a few homes before, but this one was "the one". I don't take on dual agency often. This one was the exception, and it worked because both sides wanted the same outcome.

My seller went above and beyond. He added a shed before they even made an offer, then built a little back deck with steps to the yard during the process. That's the kind of heart that makes a house feel like home.

Forty-five days, a few bumps, and yesterday we closed. One family celebrating a fresh start, another handed the keys to their very first home. Both walked out smiling and a few tears.

That look on their faces? That's the whole job. ❤️🔑

🚗 First Tour of Iowa Stop: Milo! 🌽

Every good road trip needs a fun travel buddy, so thank you to my sister for joining me and for never questioning why our “tour of Iowa” was mostly planned around food! 😂

Our first stop was Burger King for coffee and hash browns for the road. Priorities, right? ☕🥔

Once we arrived in Milo, we stopped at Casey’s, where one of the guys thought my IMURLTR license plate meant “immortal” instead of “I’m Your Realtor.” 🤣 Apparently, I’m not only selling houses, I’m also going to live forever!

The employees recommended that we try the Key lime pie, so we did because when the locals give you food advice, you listen! We then drove around town, we saw some beautiful parks, and enjoyed the scenery.

Next up was the Milo Meat Locker, which was one of the main reasons for our trip! We had so much fun visiting with the employees, brought home a few meat packages, and discovered what may be the best ice cream I have ever tasted, butter ice cream! 🍦 I would seriously drive back to Milo just for another scoop!

As we were leaving town, we met a gentleman out mowing who owns KCME Racing. He moved to Milo a little over a year ago and purchased about nine acres with a home, a shop, and some land where he built his very own motocross track! Such a nice guy, and definitely not something you see every day!

Milo is such a cute, fun little town, and everyone we met was incredibly friendly. Stay tuned, I’ll let you know how the meat tastes!

Now the big question is…where should we go next on our next Tour of Iowa? 💙
