Hello!! My name is Mingo. I am a sweet and gentle Teddy Bear mix. Weighing just 10.8 # pounds and am considered a senior at 10 years old. I am looking for a soft place to lay my head in my golden years. Nothing too much, but a plush billowy bed or 2 should do the trick. An open lap would work too! Anything close to you is perfect.
I joined the rescue as a transfer from the Green Bay Campus - Wisconsin Humane Society thanks to an advocate who reached out for rescue assistance knowing that I needed more than they could provide for me at the humane society. I was originally surrendered after my owner passed away.
I am an outgoing friendly guy and enjoy meeting everyone.
As a senior, I have some typical medical issues. My eyes are getting a little cloudy, but I have no problem getting around. I physically can get around well in the house, but getting outside I may need a bit of help because I am am a little confused by steps and ramps. I will allow you to pick me up without a problem. I was diagnosed with a heart murmur, but don't need medication. This would be something that my forever vet would need to monitor during my routine visits as I get older. I enjoy leisurely sniffing outside in the fenced yard with an occassional zoomie or two. Just keep an eye out for me, so I don’t nonchalantly meander off sniffing the grass and flowers. I am also working on my leash walking. I am a good boy and go outside to potty and do my business when kept to a routine. I keep a clean crate. I am good in a crate and sleep quietly through the night.
My coat has some thinning, but is a beautiful combo of white, silver, and dark gray/black. As it continues to thicken up, it will require routine grooming to keep it in it's best shape. Especially trimming around my eyes and ears to keep them clean and clear of debris. I do suffer from allergies and require daily medicine to keep me feeling my best and to keep the itchies and scratchies at bay.
I am a good housemate to the other doggies. I watch the other dogs for behavior cues and try to pay attention to them. I haven't shown much interest in playing or toys, so a low to moderate energy pet home would be best. I haven't met a cat, so I can't speak to that. I haven't met any kids here, but older respectful kiddos or an adult only home would be great for me.
Please consider a senior. I am worth every minute. Promise.
