When my husband and I began looking at homes 12 years ago, we were in a situation where we needed a rescue. We were expecting our second child, had outgrown our amazing Downtown condo, and had no idea what we were going to do. Our REALTOR was patient with us as we waded through options and began dreaming.

After a little while, we realized we wanted something that was looking for rescue. So, we bought a little time capsule that other buyers found too outdated. Should you have a pipe burst, that is considered an emergency and call 901-528-4465.

I would add:
- charge all the batteries, flashlights, book lights, lamps, lanterns, etc
- have a plan if things go south
- cover your cars in a garage, carport, or with a tarp
- fill up your car and generator with gas
- check in on your neighbors, family, and vulnerable community members before, during, and after
- don't be afraid to ask friends, family, and neighbors for help
