Incredible shot from our Field Researcher II, Andreas Marterer, in Germany!

For Andreas, it was all about experimenting with drone shots and different lighting to capture the winning image.

"For this shot, I drove about 30 minutes from home and arrived early on a Sunday morning to catch the morning light and to avoid having employees’ cars from this R&D flex building parked in front of the chosen subject. What I expected to be a quick 30-minute session turned into more than 90 minutes, as I experimented as well with drone shots and waited for different lighting conditions. You just can’t leave when you have the sense that some better light might still be coming.

It’s important to me to keep my competition images “straight out of the camera,” with only color corrections, so for this particular shot, I even physically removed a temporary “no parking” sign that was distracting from the composition."

🖤 Cleaned up Belle Isle in Richmond, VA, focusing on beautifying one of our community’s beloved parks right outside our Richmond campus
🖤 Completed a one-mile loop trash pick-up with our Atlanta office, coming together to collect three large bags of litter
🖤 Participated in an Earth Day Beautification Project with The City of Richmond's Office of Neighborhood Engagement at Abner Clay Park, helping to make the city a little more beautiful
🖤 Volunteered at The Doorways to help provide home-cooked meals to families and patients receiving medical care in the Richmond area
