🏡Starting Feb. 18, notices of value will go out in the mail in phases to all Buncombe County property owners and staff expect all notices to be in the mail by the first week of March.
After five years from Buncombe County’s last General Reappraisal, and a delay due to Tropical Storm Helene, thousands of new notices of value letters will be in the mail across Buncombe County starting late this week, and mailings will continue in phases through early March.
Visit tax.buncombenc.gov and enter the parcel id or address to review the property record card, check neighborhood comparable sales, or start an appeal. Property owners can file an informal appeal directly to the Assessment office until April 7 and can file a formal appeal to the Board of Equalization and Review until May 5.
Three tax relief programs authorized by the state of North Carolina may provide assistance for taxpayers 65+ years of age and living on a low income, 100% disabled and living on a low income, or for veterans with a total and permanent service-connected disability or their unmarried surviving spouse.
