The world feels a little dimmer today. Dolly Parton wasn’t just a country music legend, she was a light! She showed the world that you could come from very little and still become larger than life without ever forgetting where you came from. She led with faith, kindness, humor, and a heart for others. There will never be another Dolly. So many of us grew up listening to her, looking up to her, and wanting to be a little more like her. I hope her music continues to live on in the ears and hearts of the little ones growing up now....her voice, her kindness, and her beautiful spirit deserve to live on forever.

Fly high with those beautiful butterfly wings. Heaven gained one of the good ones. God bless her family and everyone grieving this tremendous loss. 🦋

Full disclosure… I’m a little biased because I recently started riding bulls myself. If you’ve never been to a rodeo at Haw Hill, it’s worth checking out. It’s one of those local experiences that makes Brunswick County unique.

Just a short drive from our beaches, Haw Hill Raceway in Winnabow hosts rodeo events that bring together bull riders, barrel racers, and a whole lot of Carolina tradition. Whether you’re new to the area or have lived here for years, it’s a fun way to experience another side of coastal North Carolina.
